Buy Komboglyze from Canada

Original price was: $180.00.Current price is: $140.99.

By combining saxagliptin and metformin, Komboglyze effectively reduces blood glucose levels in adults when diet and exercise alone have not been adequate. This dual mechanism of action makes it a comprehensive choice for managing type 2 diabetes mellitus.

However, Komboglyze is not suitable for patients with type 1 diabetes or the treatment of diabetic ketoacidosis since it would not be effective in these conditions. The treatment should be initiated carefully, considering the potential risk of lactic acidosis induced by metformin.

Description

Komboglyze is a prescription medication designed to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is used in conjunction with diet and exercise to enhance glycemic control. The medication consists of two active ingredients, saxagliptin and metformin hydrochloride.

Saxagliptin belongs to a class of drugs known as dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitors, which work by increasing the levels of incretin hormones, improving the release of insulin when needed, and decreasing the amount of sugar produced by the liver. Metformin hydrochloride is a biguanide which reduces glucose production in the liver, decreases glucose absorption in the intestines, and enhances insulin sensitivity by increasing peripheral glucose uptake and utilization.

Additional information

Usage

Indications:

Komboglyze is indicated for:

● Improvement of blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Patients are advised to:

● Follow the dosage and duration as prescribed by their healthcare provider.
● Monitor their blood sugar levels regularly as advised.
● Continue their diet and exercise regimen as discussed with their healthcare provider.

Administration:

● Komboglyze should be taken orally, along with meals, to reduce gastrointestinal side effects.
● It's important to swallow the tablets whole, not to split, chew, or crush them.

Precautions:

● Komboglyze is contraindicated in patients with severe renal impairment, acute or chronic metabolic acidosis, including diabetic ketoacidosis, or a history of hypersensitivity to saxagliptin, metformin, or any of the excipients.
● Before starting Komboglyze, assess renal function and monitor it periodically thereafter.
● Patients should be evaluated for conditions that predispose them to lactic acidosis, such as heart failure, or if undergoing radiologic studies involving contrast.

Drug Interactions:

● Concurrent use with specific diuretics, corticosteroids, thyroid products, and other drugs that can affect blood glucose levels should be managed closely.
● Alcohol intake should be limited as it may increase the risk of lactic acidosis with metformin.

Side Effects

● Upper respiratory tract infections
● Urinary tract infections
● Headache
● Gastrointestinal symptoms (nausea, diarrhea)

Serious side effects that require immediate medical attention:

● Signs of lactic acidosis (such as fast and shallow breathing, severe nausea, vomiting, or stomach pain)
● Severe joint pain
● Hypoglycemia symptoms when combined with insulin or sulfonylureas

Storage

● Store at room temperature, away from moisture and out of reach of children.

Special Precautions

Before using Komboglyze, patients should inform their healthcare provider if they:

● Have or have had pancreatitis, gallstones, alcoholism, or high triglycerides.
● Have renal or liver impairment.
● Are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.

Overdose

In case of overdose, supportive measures should be initiated, and treatment of hypoglycemia or lactic acidosis should be addressed as required. Monitoring renal function may also be necessary. Seek immediate medical attention or contact a Poison Control Center.
