Usage	Jentadueto is indicated for: ● The improvement of glycemic control in adults with Type 2 diabetes mellitus. ● Use in patients who are not adequately controlled on a regimen containing metformin or a DPP-4 inhibitor. ● As a second-line therapy when diet and exercise plus a single antidiabetic agent do not provide adequate glycemic control. Patients are advised to: ● Adhere to their healthcare provider's instructions regarding dosing and administration of Jentadueto. ● Continue a proper diet and exercise regimen concurrent with medication use. ● Monitor their blood sugar levels regularly as advised by their healthcare provider. Administration: ● Jentadueto is taken orally, with meals to reduce the gastrointestinal side effects of metformin. ● The tablets should be swallowed whole and not crushed, broken, or chewed. Precautions: ● Jentadueto carries a boxed warning for lactic acidosis, a rare but serious complication caused by metformin accumulation. ● It should not be used in patients with renal impairment or metabolic acidosis, including diabetic ketoacidosis. ● Use should be temporarily discontinued in patients undergoing radiologic studies involving intravascular administration of iodinated contrast materials. Drug Interactions: ● Alcohol intake should be limited as it can increase the risk of lactic acidosis when taking metformin. ● Certain medications (e.g., carbonic anhydrase inhibitors, corticosteroids, thyroid products, and others) may require more frequent blood glucose monitoring and may necessitate dose adjustments of Jentadueto.
