Usage
Tadalafil is provided in the form of oral tablets, and it can be consumed with or without food. There are two dosing options: daily or as needed, depending on your doctor's recommendation. When used for erectile dysfunction, it can be taken as needed, typically 30 minutes before sexual activity, but not more than once every 24 hours. Alternatively, it can be taken once a day, regardless of sexual activity timing. If you have specific health conditions or take certain medications, your doctor may adjust the dosing frequency or prescribe a lower daily dose. Always follow your doctor's instructions and the label guidelines closely. For pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) or benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), take tadalafil once daily at the same time each day. If transitioning from another BPH medication, follow your doctor's instructions. Tadalafil for PAH helps manage the condition but doesn't cure it, so continue taking it as directed, even if you feel better. Do not discontinue without consulting your doctor. • Discomfort in the abdomen, back, muscles, arms, or legs.
• Cough
Certain side effects may be severe. If you experience any of the following, promptly call your doctor or seek emergency medical attention:
• Sudden decrease or loss of vision (more details below)
• Blurred vision
• Changes in color vision (such as seeing a blue tinge on objects or difficulty distinguishing blue from green)
• Sudden decrease or loss of hearing (more details below)
• Ringing in the ears
• Erection lasting longer than 4 hours
• Dizziness
• Chest pain
• Hives
• Rash
• Difficulty breathing or swallowing
• Enlargement of the face, throat, tongue, lips, eyes, hands, feet, ankles, or lower legs.
• Blistering or peeling of the skin
In some cases, individuals experienced sudden vision loss, including permanent cases, after taking tadalafil or similar medications. It remains unclear whether the medication directly caused this vision loss. If you encounter a sudden loss of vision while using tadalafil, contact your doctor immediately or seek emergency medical help. Do not take more tadalafil or similar medications like sildenafil (Revatio, Viagra) or vardenafil (Levitra) until you consult your doctor.
Similarly, some patients reported a sudden reduction or loss of hearing, often affecting only one ear and sometimes persisting even after discontinuing the medication. The exact cause of this hearing loss in connection with the medication remains uncertain. If you experience sudden hearing loss, along with symptoms like ringing in the ears or dizziness, while taking tadalafil, contact your doctor promptly. Do not take additional doses of tadalafil or similar medications until you discuss the matter with your doctor. Tadalafil may cause other side effects. Notify your doctor if you encounter any unusual problems while using this medication.

To ensure safe storage of this medication:
• Keep it in its original container, tightly closed, and away from children's reach.
• Store it at room temperature, avoiding excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom).
• Please refrain from disposing of the medication by flushing it down the toilet.
• For proper disposal, consider participating in a medicine take-back program by consulting your pharmacist or local garbage/recycling department.
• Safeguard all medications from children by using child-resistant containers and placing them out of sight and reach.
• Always secure safety caps and store medications in an inaccessible place to prevent.

Before using Tadalafil:
• Inform your doctor and pharmacist about any allergies to tadalafil, other medications, or any ingredients in tadalafil tablets.
• Mention if you are taking riociguat (Adempas) or nitrates like isosorbide dinitrate, isosorbide mononitrate, or nitroglycerin. Nitrates come in various forms. Do not use tadalafil if taking nitrates.
• Disclose any use of street drugs containing nitrates ('poppers') while on tadalafil.
• Be aware that tadalafil is available under the brand names Adcirca and Cialis; use only one product at a time.
• Share a complete list of all prescription/nonprescription medications, vitamins, and supplements with your doctor and pharmacist. Mention medications like alpha blockers, antifungals, HIV protease inhibitors, high blood pressure drugs, and others, as they may interact with tadalafil.
• Inform your doctor about herbal products, especially St. John's wort.
• Report if you smoke, had prolonged erections, recent dehydration, or any health conditions such as diabetes, heart issues, ulcers, bleeding disorders, circulation problems, blood cell disorders, eye diseases, or family history of such conditions.
• If you are a woman taking tadalafil for PAH, let your doctor know if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding.
• Notify medical professionals of your tadalafil use during any surgery, including dental procedures.
• Discuss the consumption of alcohol during tadalafil treatment with your doctor, as excessive alcohol intake can lead to side effects.
• If using tadalafil for erectile dysfunction, inform your doctor if you've been advised to avoid sexual activity for medical reasons or have experienced chest pain during sexual activity. In case of chest pain, dizziness, or nausea during sexual activity, seek medical attention and refrain from further sexual activity until advised by your doctor.
• Make sure all healthcare providers are aware of your tadalafil use, especially in emergencies involving heart issues, as they will need to know when you last took the medication.
